Home theater installation is not as complicated as it may seem to be. With a home theater you are freed from such inconveniences by bringing the cinema to your very own home. Going to the cinema can be such a hassle. You have to queue for your tickets and sit amongst a crowd of strangers.
Here is a 10-step home theater installation:
1. Plan how you want to set up your home theater. You should know where you will put the components of the home theater before you unpack the system and move your furniture.
2. Take note of where you will be plugging in the components of your home theater. It is best for the room to have its own circuit breaker, so that it will not affect the house’s electrical system in case it overloads. You can supplement your outlets using power strips.
3. Position the television screen somewhere people can view it directly. The screen’s center needs to be aligned with the viewers’ eyes for the best screening.
4. Position your speakers before attaching the wires. Take note where people who might have hearing problems will be seated so that you can place certain speakers directly around that area.
5. Place the center speaker on top or under the television. Be sure to align the speaker’s front edge with the television’s front.
6. The right and left channel speakers should be placed at the same distance on the appropriate sides of the television. They should have the same height as the center speaker.
7. The surround speakers should be placed at the right and left of where you will be sitting. They should also be distanced equally. The speakers should not face the viewing position directly.
8. The subwoofer should be placed to the room’s side. If you want the bass to be greater, you can move it towards the wall. If you want it to be softer, you can move it away from the wall.
9. Hook up the entire system using the appropriate cables. Check the user manual to be sure what wire goes to which plug.
10. Enjoy your home theater.
Home theater installation is not that difficult. Just follow instructions and in no time will have your own home theater up and ready.
