A Book Review: A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks

Built by Trudi Harper on Thursday, November 30th, 2006

A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite fiction books. The book is a love story between Miles and Sarah.

I’ll set the story up for you…Miles has never recovered from the death of his wife and high school sweetheart, Missy who was killed in a hit-and-run accident. As a deputy sheriff in the North Carolina town of New Bern, Miles Ryan not only grieves for Missy but is obsessed over finding the hit and run driver and wants to bring him or her to justice.

Then Miles meets his son Jonah’s second grade teacher Sarah Andrews, a divorcee new to the area. He becomes interested her. She’s the the first woman Mile’s has looked at since Missy’s death. Tentatively, Sarah and Miles reach out to each other. Before long they find themselves falling in love.

A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks is about mutual healing and finding solace in another. But it is also very much about discovering the person who accidentally killed Missy. Will the truth destroy all that Miles and Sarah have built together?

In my opinion, A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks is a must read for readers who love romance stories.
