A Testimony To Answered Prayer

Recently I received the following testimony via email from a lady who lives in America. I was so moved by her demonstration of courage that I asked her permission to publish both her email to me and my response to her, so that it may help others who find themselves in a similar heartrending situation.

Dear Brother Roy

Through my parents in England (I live in America) a friend contacted you regarding a recent diagnosis I received of terminal brain cancer that had spread after four years from a breast cancer and a very short prognosis was given to me. You, along with others who are obviously kind and compassionate people that I have never met have prayed for me.

This past month has been a wonderful experience in my life. I have people from around the world praying for me and keeping me in their kind thoughts. I have felt the tremendous power of all this wonderful energy. Many of these people are kind souls I have never met. I feel a peace, comfort and joy I would never have expected at a time like this. Of course I can feel somewhat sad that I will be leaving my wonderful husband, daughter and two beautiful young grandchildren: Too soon.

This was my reply to this courageous lady

Dear Brenda

Thank you for your email that I received this morning. I was both saddened and inspired by the moving account of your present condition, it takes great courage for one to face their impending demise with such love and understanding and not with anger and hurt.

You are about to start on a journey that countless many have gone before and those alive at present and yet to live will one day surely follow. And for the loved ones that you will leave behind; they must remember that you will not have left them but only just walked on ahead.

I believe your testimony would help so many to deal with their own problems. I would like your kind permission to publish your email which would be an inspiration to so many people. I will continue to keep both you and your family close in thought and prayer.

This was her final reply to me.

Dear Brother Roy

Thank you so much for your beautiful response to my email to you. I am only too happy and honoured for you to publish my email letter and it is my sincere hope that others will be filled with the love of the Lord so that we can reflect upon our lives, to make any changes and to learn to love one another and live in peace for our remaining time on this earth.

You are absolutely right, we are not leaving our family and friends; we are just walking on ahead and in time will meet again in paradise.

A Prayer Request

Each week I will be publishing a request for someone who needs all our prayer support

Hi Everyone….I need to impose on you to help us pray for our friend Izabella.

Izabela is a really good friend of ours and has been suffering from breast cancer for a number of years. It has spread to her brain and liver and things aren’t looking that good right now. She’s married and they have five children between the ages of 13 and 7.From a medical prospective, her options are very limited.

Along with a lot of praying she has been trying every possible treatment (medical and natural) to help rid her body of this horrible disease.

I strongly believe if we all take a moment (or several moments) and say a prayer for Izabela, it will help heal her body and give her the opportunity to watch her children grow.

I hope you will be able to help. Together and with God’s help I truly believe she will be healed!!

Life after Death

I am often asked the age old question what happens after death. While some believe it’s impossible to know whether there is life after death, belief in immortality is timeless. People of all times and places in history have believed that the human soul survives death.

If there is no consciousness beyond the grave, then life has fooled almost everyone from the Pharaohs of Egypt to Jesus of Nazareth. When we talk about rebirth or reincarnation, some people laugh at the idea. They consider such belief is pass and obsolete. Others may think such a question is in the arena of religion. After all, it is concerned with what comes after death. History has given us sufficient testimony as to man’s ability to tune in to a divine spiritual reality. With his sublime creative powers bordering on genius man can create works of art that are everlasting. Saints, sages, mystics and great artists have laid the foundation of human culture in a relatively short time in its evolution. Mystics and founders of religions have testified to man’s ability to free him/her from the clutches of temporal existence by opening himself to the Divine. Some people feel quite suddenly and unexpectedly carried away in spirit, becoming emerged in a ‘cosmic consciousness’ – one with nature. Being able to transcend time and space could mean that in the depth of his nature man is connected to an extra dimensional continuum.

Thanks to progress in medical science, more and more patients are resuscitated from clinical death. Some of them report experiences which bear great similarity, such as passing through a tunnel, being received by deceased members of the family, or a radiant figure, before entering in a heavenly sphere in a state of great euphoria. As a result of continuing research in the last decades more and more of these experiences have been recorded, compared and analysed. It is noteworthy that these patients saw only relatives and friends who had died, in the ‘hereafter’. In exceptional cases they even saw people who they surmised still being alive, but whose death announcement had not as yet reached them.

A popular saying has it that no one has ever returned to tell what happened after death. They do not take into consideration the millions of communications said to have been received by the survivors directly, or by means of a psychically gifted person – a medium. This contact with the dead has been reported to us from the dawn of mankind. Thousands of books have been filled with descriptions of the hereafter. Some of these communications were dictated whilst the recipient was asleep. In other cases one hand just scribbled on its own accord the messages whilst the receiver was either asleep or conducting a conversation, and they revealed facts no one alive could have ever known. There is one certainty that when we die, each and every one of us will start on a journey that countless many have gone before and those alive at present and yet to live will one day surely follow. And for the loved ones that are left behind; they must remember that we have not have left them but only just walked on ahead.

I think it does us all good to be reminded that life has such a sweetness to it and that the future is just some place far, far away. Sadly life soon overtakes us and we are just left with the memories of what once was. Now is the time to both reflect and make our peace with the Lord and thank him for each passing day whilst we prepare ourselves for that next great journey which each and every one of us will make one day.

The twilight years are fast approaching,

tranquillity filters slowly into my mind,

finally, the turmoil of life is subsiding,

creating a haven, the pain is left behind.

Holding on to my thoughts for a lifetime,

surviving meaningless memories begins,

slowly letting go will not be tranquil,

my mind keeps searching, echoing within.

From deep within, come trickling memories,

found in all my hidden silenced tears,

shooting adrenaline throughout my veins,

taunting my mind, again with all my fears.

Paintings in my mind are slowly fading,

the canvas is dimming to charcoal grey,

on the horizon, hope flashes it’s signal,

twilight years and happiness begin today.

The battles of desperation has now ended,

finally, I’ve met and conquered my fears,

my soul is mending, with the help of God,

Lord comfort me,, in my twilight years.
