No thanks..pure garbage! Now that it blows “cold air” it only tells me that it was bad from the beginning because it was weak and NEVER heated the area. If you have a 4×4 room then maybe it will work but if you’re like everyone else and have average rooms, don’t bother!

Terrible. Junk. after almost $400 and only having it 2 years (which is REALLY only 1 full season and this one when it doesn’t work) ours is blowing cold air. The best “offer” they could give us was paying $140 as an “extended warranty” where they would send us a new one! What a scam. We spoke to Carl and all he did was say “no mam”, “sorry mam” “I apologize mam” “sorry mam”. They read from a script and have no really care about what you’re saying or how you’ve been ripped off. DON’T BUY..DON’T BUY…DON’T BUY.

Tragically, I bought 2 of these things. I did not uncrate and put them into service for almost a year, and by then the standard warranty had run out. After 3 months, the more expensive cherry finished unit (not real cherry) had a thermostat failure after only 3 months of service and would not remain on for more than 3 minutes at a time. My complaints to the company were rebuffed with “we offered an extended warranty which you declined” as if it were somehow my fault they delivered an over-valued, under-quality controlled unit (without papers I might add) and I did not return it promptly. I also oberved there is no energy cost savings as advertized … in fact, quite the opposite. So this seems to be a “show and shine” operation rather than a “fit and function” apparatus and grossly over-valued at best. I would never give this company another dime for anything they had to offer and have advised my extensive world-wide contacts to do likewise … this company has no ethics, the product is a scam and the advertizing is a shabby hoax. And As “RP” stated earlier, it is rather cheeziod when you look at it as a “fire place”. Just forget the whole thing. Service stinks. It’s all about the sale and not the follow-up. Customer service … who gives a rat’s A$$ as long as the $ keep rolling in? The Amish touch is quaint but just another come-on. I’d rather buy a KIA (you know, the folks who were in the Korean bicycle business cum auto manufacturers). I guess the most fruitfull tthing I can do now is to gut the thing and use the Amish mantle as a liquor cabinet (not deep enough for a rollaway book case).

everything u r reading on the comments bout this heater is true,it is a piece of junk.my heater was 400 dollars and worked great for a year , then it stopped blowing air. the company said i shouldve gotten the warrenty,even if i had gotten the warrenty and it went out afterward,it would still be disposable,b/c they dont sell parts or service them,if i had known this i would never have bought it, but they dont tell u that,and u cant find anyone locally to fix it or even work on it!! so now it sit in my garage as a constant reminder of me not doing my homework. heat surge and the amish can both rot in hell!!!

This heater may be OK for aesthetics but it won’t heat a small room. You can’t defeat the laws of thermal physics. This is nothing more than a large space heater. A small oscillating heater with a fan does better than this. The Amish workmanship is the only saving grace here. The worst thing about this is that one of my in-laws bought 2 of these!!!!!!

These units are just cheap Chinese imports. It’s amazing how they portray them. Just junk, and wait until they need service or repair. Oh yes I almost forgot to mention the condescending b..ch manager. WOW NO HELP AND NO CONCERN

Do the makers of Heat Surge Heaters use false advertising? A real Amish man will not let you take his picture. That is considered a graven image. Also they must have the oldest virgins in the world. Married Amish women must wear black caps. Only single girls wear white caps.

I bought my heater last season. My grandma and mom have had theirs for going on the third season. They have not had problems but one of mine (I have 2) started squeaking slightly and not putting out as much warm air. I called the customer service line and they told me there was a 1 hour wait and had me leave my number and they would call me back. I never received a call. I called back and the recording said there was a 2 hour wait! I gave up which I think was the point. There customer service needs serious help!!!

I wish I would have read these comments prior to purchasing these heaters. But then I wouldn’t have had the oppurtunity to speak with a snotty, condecending customer service supervisor who didn’t give a rats a.. about my heater.
