Many researchers have long thought that the source of weight gain lies in the hands of carbohydrates such as bread, potatoes, cereals pastas, etc.

Many popular diet plans actually ban, or limit greatly the amount of carbs in their plans.

Do these low carb or no carb diets really work?



Effectiveness of low carb diets

Research indicates that the low carb or no carb diet is no more effective at generating weight loss than simple calorie counting. In the end, losing weight is all about the math. You burn so many calories per day, you take in so many calories per day, subtract the two numbers and you have either a surplus of calories (meaning you will be gaining weight) or a deficit of calories (meaning you will be losing weight)

In the end, strictly limiting your carb intake may initially help you to lose pounds fast, but once you re-introduce the carbs into your diet, those lost pounds will show up immediately.

The two biggest challenges that anyone can do are intaking fewer calories and exercising daily. By exercising, you will be burning off calories and also boosting your metabolism for further weight loss.
