Are you truthful about money?

Built by Sherrie Le Masurier on Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Can you put the words ‘honesty’ and ‘money’ in the same sentence?

In other words, do you hide, pretend or ignore the truth about your personal finance matters and how you spend your money?

If so you’re not alone, many of us are in denial when it comes to money.

The problem is you’ll always have personal finance problems as long as you’re in denial about your spending and bill payment habits. In order to feel in control of your money and to feel good about the money you do have, you need to come to terms with your negative money habits and be honest with yourself.

Following are five questions to help you determine how much in denial you’re in regarding personal finance matters.

1) Do you have a habit of ignoring your bills?

2) Do you have a tendency to overcharge on your credit cards?

3) Do you try to keep up with the Joneses even when you can’t afford to?

4) Are you an emotional spender?

5) Are you simply hopeful you’ll have the money to pay your bills when they come in?
