Gail Dotson Bankson's Bio

I grew up in Woodland Hills, CA and currently live in Moorpark, CA with my wonderful husband, Rick. We are huge animal lovers and currently have 6.5 cats and a puppy. The .5 is an abandoned cat that used to live where we now live. We live out in the country on a horse ranch that houses many, many horses and some exotic animals too. Our daily wildlife includes 4 white owls, a mama opposum and her 4 little babies - they eat our leftover catfood at night. Sometimes we get a raccoon who likes to wreak havoc on our porch. We even had a skunk show up during an outdoor poker game one night - that was interesting.... Before the current poker craze, I was quite involved in the poker community in Los Angeles. My late first husband was a professional poker player for many years, attending many tournaments in the early 90's. We frequented all the clubs - Bicycle, Commerce, etc. He loved poker so much, he quit his job as a legal adviser and went on to spend his days as a poker dealer and his nights playing poker for hours on end. His poker bible was a 3" thick book that he studied religiously. His love of poker rubbed off on me. I am 5'5", weigh 120 lbs and legpress 215 lbs. which is really not that much, but the women at my gym stare at me when they see that. I believe in Super Slow strength training, which apparently very few people know about. Not a day goes by when women don't comment on the heavy weights I lift. Rick is an excellent musician who plays bass and guitar. We often have jam sessions at our house. He's been playing in bands for 40+ years, since he was a kid.
