Joseph Elijah Barrett can thank his father, the late Eld. Joseph Elias Barrett, Sr., for instilling in him a love for good health at an early age. Joseph, Sr. would frequent the health food store to buy natural products such as cod liver oil and wheat germ.
One day in the late 70s, Joseph Elijah saw a Dannon yogurt commercial on television called Old People in Russia. The spin of the commercial was that these people owed their longevity from eating Dannon yogurt. It didn't matter, he was hooked on exercise to improve his health and longevity.
