Yes, some kids are involved in all that and more. I know as parents we want to help our children grow and let them have wonderful experiences but are we doing too much?

Children’s activities help them in so many ways. They learn team work, responsibility, and the activity itself.

I think keeping our kids busy and getting them invloved at a young age is good. However, let’s not forget that kids need down time too. And they need time to entertain themselves.

Talking to some stay-at-home Moms in my Mom group they have every minute of their summer planned. There is swim lessons, soccer, library events, play dates, movies, craft events and so on.

I commend them for taking the time to plan all that and thinking of their kids.

I know as a kid I loved to get out and do things but I also liked that time at home. Time to play with toys, color, paint, read a book, watch a movie or anything that grabbed me at that moment. I used my imagination and it was fun.

Do your kids act tired and ask to stay home? Perhaps you need to limit an activity. Do you spend all your time shuttling kids around? Perhaps you need to limit an activity.

If your chil dis involved in several activities but doens’t seem to really like one perhaps it is time to drop that activity. You can always try something else but focus on what they really like to do.

Plan some time to be at home and let them play. They can play with siblings, neighbor kids and even plan for times they play alone. kids need to learn how to entertain themselves. Your imagination can carry you off to places that no game or activity can do.

Yes, do it all and more in moderation.
