If you’re like I used to be, your bathroom is completely cluttered and disorganized. While the rest of my house is relatively neat, I never was able to find places to store all of my bathroom supplies. Shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors, toothpaste – all of my toiletries were strewn randomly about every surface. Fortunately, I figured out how to get organized, and you can, too!
The most important change I made in my bathroom was to increase my bathroom’s storage capacity. First, I added corner shelves in my shower. These easy to install bathroom shower shelves, stand at eye-level in each corner of the shower – the perfect height for shampoo, soap, and other toiletries. They are easy to put together. Some use a simple adhesive, and others can be installed in just a few seconds using an electric screwdriver.
I also added more bathroom shower shelves by hanging a shower caddy over the shower faucet. This was really easy – no installation needed. A shower caddy is a great place to store those slippery bars of soap, as well as shampoo and conditioner. Even with your eyes closed against soap suds, it is easy to grope around and find everything you need in your shower caddy.
Because I have small children, I also decided to add some lower bathroom shower shelves. I purchased some small adhesive soap shelves and placed them at knee-level or lower throughout the shower. These shelves are small, so they are unobtrusive. But they are perfect for keeping bars of soap or small bottles of the kids’ shampoos and bubble baths.
It was also important to add some medicine cabinet storage. My original medicine cabinet was very small and quickly became stuffed full. I decided to remove it (a simple task with an electric screwdriver) and purchase a larger medicine cabinet kit. These kits have everything you need to install the shelving. I found that I was able to install the cabinet in about an hour.
Finally, I added some simple sink shelves to store soap, toothbrushes, dental floss, and other important toiletries. These sink shelves were similar to the small soap dishes I installed in the shower. I decided to purchase one in each color so that my children could have their own personalized shelves. They enjoyed decorating their shelves with permanent markers and glitter glue, and as an added bonus, it helped them be more organized in the morning.
