If you’d like to change the appearance of your kitchen, but don’t want to put in a lot of money and effort, you can get a whole different look by replacing the sink and the faucet. This is especially handy if you want to change things without making a big mess. There are plenty of choices on the market, from the antique to the retro to the modern. You can get an old fashioned brass faucet, a smooth and modern chrome or brushed nickel kitchen faucet, or even faucets decorated with fine materials like marble and bronze. It’s up to you.

You’ll be happy to learn that most modern kitchen faucets offer plenty of options. There are built in sprayers, movable faucet necks, and even soap dispensers. You can pick from the simple and sleep to fancy and expensive. Your budget will in part dictate what you choose. However, you’ll also probably shop according to your taste and the architecture of your home. If you like the look of fancy antiques or live in an old Victorian house, you might purchase a brass kitchen faucet. If you like things simple and smooth, a nickel kitchen faucet might be your choice, especially if you live in a mid-century home.

In addition to price and style, you should decide on faucet design. Brushed nickel kitchen faucets come in just as many styles as the rest. That means you’ll need to decide between those with retractable spray heads, those that mount on the sink top, and those that mount on the wall, in addition to lots of other possible features. Pay attention to the number of knobs or handles on the faucet, and the way you like to use your kitchen sink. Also, be sure to look for water hoses that are long enough to accommodate your sink. This is particularly important for faucets that include sprayers. Some models don’t allot enough hose to adequately spray all areas inside the sink.

The price range for brushed nickel kitchen faucets and other styles is pretty broad. Some faucets can be purchased for under fifty dollars. Others cost hundreds. For most of us, the right price will be somewhere in between. Remember not to be too frugal when you buy. A low quality faucet that’ll have to be replaced early on won’t do you much good. Instead, look for kitchen faucets that offer the right blend of quality and a good price. That way, you’ll be happy, and won’t have to deal with leaks or other problems. Shop carefully when you buy your new nickel kitchen faucet, and you’ll be sure to get the right one.
