Can You Water Dance?

Built by Susanna Jade Angolani on Sunday, November 4th, 2007

When you hear the sound of rain on your roof, do you turn off the TV, stereo, or other distraction and just sit for a moment and listen? When you go to the ocean, do you dance on the beach as the tide rolls in and out?

Having grown up near the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, the magnificent sound of the waves against the shore was a familiar and cherished treat to my senses. Not just the sound, but the smell of the salty water mixed with sand and sun all contributed to the total experience. Every time I visit the coast now, since I no longer live within a half an hour of the surf, I also taste the water – a tiny lick from a finger. I remember the gulps I took as a child when I caught the wave wrong and ended up in the “under tow” for too long. The extreme salt would leave you choking, but somehow cleansed. It was always so refreshing to drink that big cup of fresh water after one of those gulps of the sea.

Listen to the rain, to a river, to a waterfall, to a babbling brook, to the blood through your veins, which is made up of almost 90 % water. That’s if we drink enough of it. So many of us drink a carbonated sugary beverage when we are thirsty. Here is a comparison I’ve seen a few times but am always impressed to read it:

WATER OR COKE?

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as 3%.

#4 One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

COKE

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from

the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery term inals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix

with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8… To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of gr easy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a ha zardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water? or Coke?

OK – perhaps all carbonated drinks aren’t as bad as our Classic Coke, but certainly none of them compare to the benefits of good, clean water. That’s why it’s so important to drink the best water we can. Bottled water is a humongous market, as we’re all aware, with tremendous differences in quality and price. There is a great product on the market now that converts regular filtered water to “Super” water that properly hydrates, lowers PH levels and supplies important electrolytes to our bodies when consumed as suggested. We’ll talk more about the “Super” water next time. For now – go dance in the rain and drink plenty of healing water.
