You may have started as a junior or an apprentice, either way you were sweeping floors, passing stuff to the operator, running errands until you developed onto shampooing and while all that was going on you may have notices how a client was received when they walked in the door…..at least I hope you did.

You would have seen a polite greeting or maybe a friendly one but regardless, it would have been respectful. A client comes to your salon to be pampered and fussed over apart from wishing to look good on exit.

They expect a quality of service from the boss right down to the junior because they are willing to pay for it and of course, they don’t get it at home. With the choices she has, you had better make sure that she gets what she expects or she’ll be off down the road next time.

As a junior you’re expected to watch and learn and of course in some salons you actually get trained in a programmed course specifically designed by the firm you work for as they do at the Maidenhead Hairdressers my wife goes to. New clients are a little apprehensive and need what can be described as ‘being led’. They don’t know where to put their coat or where to go until you show them so the services starts immediately they have completed the check in at reception.

In good salons a junior or sometimes even the actual operator will greet them at reception and ask for their coat followed by offering help with a gown or cover of some sort.

The client should then be led confidently and courteously to a pre-determined position in the salon. You should never just walk off and expect to be followed without some sort of verbal instruction. It’s all part of salon etiquette.

As a senior you now have the task of establishing what ‘madam’ wants to be done to her locks. Some clients know exactly and others will just ‘leave it to you’. If you have the latter on your chair and it’s only a simple cut and dry, just remember this.

Do not just get on with it. Be sure to offer a verbal suggestion using your hands to portray the image in her mind, mention the current length and where it will be at the end. If it’s one length, point it out on her head, neck, shoulder or back, depending on the final result. Other than that, unless you know her well, touching anywhere other than her head is taboo.

If it’s to be layers then explain that and if possible show her an example either on a live person or a photograph or video. If you go through these motions there’s very little she can argue about at the end if she’s not happy with the result. If ‘madam’ know what she wants and you have the knowledge and skills then it’s odds on you have a client for a very long period

You’ve been trained in what styles suit what shaped face and know enough to cover any blemishes on or near her hairline. As an example, if she has a broad neck you should do what you can to make it look narrower so, no horizontal cutting. Obviously the opposite is true if she is very thin at the base of her rear hairline.

Of course you need to sell some ideas and products to her and each salon has a training procedure for that so I won’t elaborate on it other than suggesting that you’ll take into account her age and whether she requires something fashionable for a particular occasion or if she wants something practical because of her job or she’s a busy mother.

At all times however, remember that she came in to be pampered and to feel good when she leaves.

GVO or Global Virtual opportunity is an impressive home business which also includes an incredible online marketing tools suite and an unprecidented amount of training.

GVO (Global Virtual Opportunities) formerly Kiosk is a company owned by Joel Therien who has a 12 year track of experience in the network marketing and internet marketing industries.

GVO has quickly created a big buzz in the internet marketing and the MLM , Network marketing arenas due to the fact that it is the only company online that has the knowhow and the expertise to join these two very important business models in a once in a lifetime opportunity.

In addition, you may be aware that GVO was fully re- launched as of October 20, 2009 and is being supported and promoted by a whole host of network marketing gurus.

Why? Because They Also Happen to Be Long Time Clients of GVO

Essentially GVO is Kiosk with some bonus products rolled in at a Titanium package level and it is the titanium package that I wish to concentrate on.

The GVO titanium package includes everything you need to run an on line home business in one package – Unlimited hosted domains, an eresponder pro service, GVO conference facilities downtime witness and easy video producer, each product on its own is probably worth between $35 and $45 per month, with the GVO Titanium package you can get the whole ball of wax for $44.95 per month. As a nice additional incentive they have a 14 day 1 dollar trial allowing perspective home business people to sample the entire package with little risk.

That’s what you get and as such it offers excellent value, what GVO also offers is a compensation plan that can really push your business along when you refer others to their services

How do I get compensated?

To motivate you to promote the business, GVO pays you 50% commission on the first month of every person that is directly sponsored by you.

Then we have the 2 x 10 Binary Hybrid Matrix Plan that will pay you 5% per month of up to levels down making this a full matrix of 2,046 people and that alone will earn you $4,600.00 per month!

Wait! It gets even better because you will also get a 20% matching bonus on your personal referrals down to 10 levels.

Once you have a downline of 14 people or more then you earn a new profit position in the matrix that you can also make money off of.

I can honestly say that there are very few matrix affiliate programs that I can recommend with any confidence.

The GVO Home Business has been one of the few products that I have been able to confidently recommend to subscribers and website visitors, because it actually offers real value.

In fact the Titanium webhosting package provides you with the scope of being able to host unlimited domains and provides an opportunity within an opportunity to be a hosting reseller.

I recommend that you evaluate it for your self and make an informed decision about this business opportunity and my question would be if it’s not right for you- what will be?

What guarantees that people will stay?

If you have been online for some time and you are serious about building an internet business, you know that in today’s market, these are tools that you or any internet marketer can’t afford not to have and that you will be using on a daily basis and that is the key that makes the compensation plan a very successful one.

With this business model you will build an organization of avid and constant users who will be using the services everyday to run their businesses and therefore will be happy to keep paying their monthly fee!

How do I join?

At GVO they even give you the opportunity to try us and fall in love with our services before you commit to a longer stay.

Just pay $1.00 today and this will give you full access to all the services and features for a full 14 day trial period.

Hope your find everything you are looking for under one roof with unsurpassed quality, see you inside!

To check it all out for yourself Click Here and launch your new internet home business!

In addition GVO has many live meetings weekly including opportunity overviews.

Well, hello everyone! I would like to introduce you to a peach orchard in the desert! MacKie Farms is a fast, growing agricultural benefit for Nevada. We are really excited for our upcoming year! We started our business in 2003 and have continued to grow rapidly. Although the weather is always a primary factor in our endeavor, we remain positive that we will produce a crop every year. Our local contacts in the outlining areas provide us with much needed resources to take on just about everything that pops up.

We have found that our soil is different on every acre. Who would have thought, right? Soil testing a mandatory requirement to make the best fertilizer mix for that area of trees. Combined with our drip-line watering system, we think we’ve got a handle on making sure our trees stay healthy.

In 2003, we planted 25 trees by hand. We now have over 1,000 trees and are stabilizing right there. It’s much harder work than most people would think. Since we are a family owned business, we know the physical stamina it takes just to keep up with pruning alone.

As you drive by any orchard, in any state, you really must admire the dedication it take for farmers to produce and great food for the community. If you ever get a chance to walk through one, please do! It is a great experience to pick your own fruit or veggies.

We are not an organic farm. I know people are into organic and all, but occasionally we have to spray our trees. Our biggest challenge is the coyotes, rabbits, and birds. At least the lizards don’t eat the fruit! I mean think about it…the next time your driving through the desert…now just picture 10 acres of peaches! Don’tcha just love the thought?

Now, with all of that said…MacKie Farms is still looking for more contacts in the agricultural world. Your input in greatly appreciated and we hope to hear from all of you soon!

I’m not much of a blog writer, but I will continue to do my best to keep you updated on our progress throughout the year!

ISN’T LIFE JUST PEACHY!

You’ve worked hard all day and come home at night, only to discover that you can’t get comfortable in your own bed. You toss and you turn for well over three hours. As 3a.m. approaches, you finally go to sleep but the alarm sounds all too quickly at 6 a.m. It’s time for you to go to work. Day two comes and you’re off again to the usual rat race. You repeat the same pattern once you get home. Later that night you lay in bed, thinking how you’re going to pay all of these bills. Despite your best efforts on the job, including overtime, it doesn’t seem to be enough. What can you do? Who can you to turn to?

Does this sound like you? Are you a Christian having sleepless nights because of your finances? Here are the top five reasons I have found why people get into debt:

1) Try to live beyond their means. Keep up with the Joneses.

2) Lost job and bills pile up

3) Have never been taught money management

4) Divorcing and the other party charged up cards in the process splitting up

5) Impulse Shopping

I too was a victim. Not from just one, but two of these debt catalysts. My husband equally had financial woes, his was still on this list. Being in debt has a way of having a hold on you and causes you not to think clearly. People in debt tend to operate out of fear – for example they ignore phone calls because it might be a collection agency on the other end. How many calls have they missed? Or perhaps, they write a check in the hopes that it will clear the bank; knowing full well they spent the money on luxuries and other needless excesses that have caused the bank account to have insufficient funds.

If any of this sounds like you or someone you know, assure them they can get out of debt without filing bankruptcy. They have to want help and not let pride or embarrassment get in their way of being helped.

At Journey To Wholeness, we work with people who want help getting their finances in order. There is no charge for our help. Why would you pay someone to help you get out of debt?

A little planning now can help you handle a natural disaster or other emergency.

Many Americans have focused on their need to be prepared in case of an emergency. Very few, however, consider financial preparedness in their plans. From keeping an evacuation box with important documents to setting up an account with emergency funds, preparing now can be the difference between financial security and financial crisis.

These simple tips from financial experts at Union Bank of California can help anyone prepare financially for a natural disaster:

• Conduct a Household Inventory

Create a household inventory for items of significant value and locate originals of important financial and family documents. Store original documents in waterproof bags in a safe deposit box or durable “evacuation box” and photocopies in a safe place. Use a CD to back up key documents on your computer. If practical, store copies with friends or relatives who live outside the area.

• Know Your Insurance Policies

Understand what types of losses your renters or homeowners insurance covers. Ask your insurance agent or financial planner about additional coverage for floods, earthquakes, home offices and big-ticket items. Keep copies of your policies in a safe place along with your other important papers.

• Keep Cash Accessible

Keep at least $300 in cash at home in a place where you can get to it quickly in case of a sudden evacuation. The money should be in small denominations for easier use.

• Create and Maintain a List of Emergency Contacts

Keep a list of important emergency contacts, including direct family members, doctors, medical facilities, numbers for your bank, insurance agent and company, lawyer and financial planner/advisor. Credit card 1-800 numbers can help you quickly retrieve account information.

• Keep an Emergency Savings Account

This account should be separate from any other account and contain enough money to cover at least three to six months of living expenses.

“We’ve learned from the aftermath of recent natural disasters that financial preparedness is not always top of mind,” said Union Bank’s Executive Vice President Ronald Kendrick. “Follow these guidelines to ensure you and your family are protected financially.”

You don’t need to be an economics major to figure out that if health care is going up 10% or more every year while income is only going up 4%, things are looking too good. It is entirely possible for a person to work their entire life and retire with a nest egg of $200,000 or more only to have it wiped out by one major medical issue. This is especially the case when machines must be used to keep you alive due to a severe injury or illness. It is in tragic times like these that a living will can be the difference between saving or breaking a family–economically at least.

A living will is a legal document granting another person the right to cease treatment in the event a person becomes unable to live, eat, and function without the aid of machines or medical care. A feeding tube may be removed, a ventilator turned off, or any other machine or device that is being used to keep a person alive may be discontinued or turned off if the executor of a living will determines so.

Of course, there are certain conditions that must be met in order for the executor of a living will to be able to make the decision to cease treatment. Unfortunately, there are no uniform and concrete set of conditions to be met in a living will because they differ from state to state.

In general, however, physicians must determine that a person is unlikely to improve and in a debilitative or painful state. Also, the person must not be able to care for themselves and thus require a machine or other medical device in order to remain alive. At that point, a person with a living will can have treatment terminated if the executor requests doctors to do so.

Of course, there are instances when a living will is contested by other family members not named in the living will. In most cases, the courts have ruled in favor of the wishes made clear in the living will and rarely ordered the continuation of treatment. And honestly, that treatment is very expensive and run into the thousands of dollars–each and every day.

No one wants to see the passing of a loved one but no one wants to see them suffer, either. If a person took the time to have a living will drafted and they found themselves in a situation covered by the document, then chances are they would want treatment stopped. While an unpleasant topic, the fact remains that medical situations arise where the person will not recover and is only being kept alive by machines. Prolonging life at that point only costs everyone more suffering, confusion, and money. A living will is the responsible alternative that takes a potentially painful decision out of other people’s hands and puts it squarely in yours–where it belongs.

Although a stained glass novice can get buy with a minimum of tools and supplies, if you want to go into the hobby or career in a big way, you will need more sophisticated tools for doing things. Whether you’re planning on taking an advanced class in the art of stained glass or are going to start your own home business, having the right tools will be an absolute must. If you don’t have a store nearby that caters to the needs of stained glass artists, you may want to shop online for the tools of the trade.

What you’ll find when you’re shopping for advanced tools to use in fashioning colored glass objects is that many of them are quite expensive. When you start purchasing grinders, polishers, kilns, bandsaws, and sets of glass-cutting tools, it’s going to run you several thousand dollars. That price doesn’t even include basic needs, such as a continual supply of consumable materials, such as colored glass, foil, and solder. This is not a hobby to be entered into lightly. Before investing so much money into a craft, you want to be sure that you have both enough talent and interest to maintain the hobby for the long term.

When you visit websites that offer supplies for stained glass projects, you’re going to find dozens and dozens of materials that you could buy. Unless you have an unlimited budget, you need to be selective about the items you choose and add to your workshop slowly. Too many glass artists get into a hurry and buy impulse supplies that they won’t ever use. Plan your purchases and your project agenda, and then just buy the things you’re going to need for the projects at hand. By amassing your tools and supplies on an as-needed basis, you will eventually have the complete workshop you’ve always dreamed of owning.

Creating advanced projects out of stained glass takes a lot of training, materials, and tools. It is a hobby in which you can recoup your expenses by selling the lovely pieces you design. Few people can resist the charms of a piece of beautifully-designed stained glass art, and you will have created a very successful business just by pursuing your hobby.

Email marketing is an effective Internet marketing method that can multiply your revenue generation. Find out what are the considerations in building your email marketing lists.

You should look into email marketing as one of the components of your internet marketing initiative once you decide to get into it. There are many business owners who believe that email advertising is just spamming and stay away from it. But you are really leaving money on the table if you choose to ignore it.

Creating an email marketing list is the first step in email marketing campaigns. What are the options open for you to do this? What are the dos and don’ts of email marketing?

Email lists are merely list of email addresses. You will send your advertising materials to those in the email lists.

One of the common ways people get such a list is by buying it. This method is not recommended as you will not know if those in the list are interested in the products or services that you are marketing. All your efforts in email advertising will be wasted if it is not a targeted email.

When you purchase an email list you may be sending your email messages to some users who might be interested but this is largely coincidental and is not likely to be well received because the message was not solicited.

Internet users are quick to delete emails that may be spam even without opening them. More basic than this is that some Internet service providers include spam filters and send your emails to the junk mail if they looked like they are spam. All your efforts will go to waste if most of the people in your email list do not receive or read the message.

A better way of creating your email lists is by asking current and also potential customers who are interested to register with your website to get more information on a given subject. This could be free reports, newsletters, periodic updates and the like. This results in an email list that includes people who are genuinely interested.

Now that you have a list of subscribers who are interested, you can do targeted bulk email marketing. Your message should contain useful information that will be valued by your subscribers and ultimately persuade them to buy your products or services. But make sure that it is not all promotion material only.

Once you have an email list, you then have the opportunity to do further email marketing to the same list without having to resort to other Internet marketing methods. Anytime, you know of a product that will be useful to your list, you can do an email blast. Not only will some of them buy if the product is good and useful. They might even appreciate that you updated them on the availability of the product.

You might think that starting your own carpet cleaning business will be as simple as purchasing a machine and hanging a notice in the supermarket, but you’d be wrong. Sure, you can have a shoestring operation like that if that’s all you ever hope to achieve, but if you want to develop a successful, thriving business, you need a well-defined carpet cleaning business plan. With a business plan you know where you’re going and don’t have to just meander around wondering what to do next. With a stable plan for your business, you have a foundation on which to grow your business.

Start by writing out your goals. Make them realistic and attainable. For example, if you’re starting into business with one truck-mounted carpet cleaning machine, don’t set a goal of earning $1 million your first year, because you’ll never attain it. Write a mission statement explaining what exactly the business is going to do, and decide on some points that will help you achieve your mission and goals. Do you plan to make customer service a priority? Write it in your carpet cleaning business plan. How are you going to market your services? Outline your ideas right in your business plan.

Commercial lenders are going to want to know a few things about your company, so include them in your plan. Describe the services your company will offer, the client base you expect to build, and any prior experience you’ve had working in the carpet cleaning field. Demonstrate for them that you’ve done your homework as far as analyzing the need for such a service in the marketplace. They aren’t going to be too favorable toward you if you propose a carpet cleaning business in an area where there are already a dozen others, unless you can prove that the area needs another one. Know your markets and how you’re going to establish yourself within them.

Add a section to your plan telling exactly what your marketing strategy is based on and what you hope to accomplish by applying it. Be sure to show the lender how you are planning to get the money to repay your loan, because that is going to be one of his major concerns. Project profit and loss as best you can. The lender will understand that you can’t know definite figures, but work to come up with some numbers that are at least in the ballpark. Be specific and honest about your debts and expenses. If the lender catches any misinformation he’s not going to want to do business with you. A well-thought-out carpet cleaning business plan will get you started out on the right foot. If it isn’t perfect, there will be plenty of time to modify it after while.
