Coloring Your Hair – A Tip You Probably Have Never Heard

Built by Perriann Rodriguez on Monday, July 14th, 2008

A lot of women color their own hair at home using a hair color kit from the drugstore. There are the typical instructions that go with coloring your hair such as doing a test strand, or not going more than 2 shades from your natural hair color.

Here’s a tip I heard about the other day for getting your hair color to penetrate better–especially those resilient grays.

I have never tried this tip, so I do not know if it will work. You should try it at your own risk!!! and leave your comments below if it works for you.

Here is the tip: After you have applied the hair color to your roots, you should take a towel and throw it in the dryer to make it warm. Then take it out of the dryer and wrap it around your hair. Of course you will want to use a towel that you don’t care about getting hair color on!

Supposedly the heat from the towel will help the hair color sink in better. When you think about it, at the beauty salon, stylists always stick you under the hair dryer for a while when you are getting highlights or something.

So, I plan to try this new tip out next time I color my hair. Visit http://www.hrmakeovers.com for more great hair styles makeover tips.
