Well here it is the day before the trading deadline and my Tigers have yet to make the blockbuster deal most expected. Personally, I think the asking price for the big names out there are too high for only two months of use. Most all are free agents at seasons end and may or may not sign a contract for next year. So give up prospects and who knows what else is not the thing to do in the Tigers case.
The chemistry on this team has been excellent since an early season level setting by Jim Leyland. Everyone has been a hero at one time or another and continue to do so on a daily basis. I for one like the current assembled team and think tinkering for the stretch run would be a mistake.
Today the Tigers go for the sweep against what was supposedly the hottest team in baseball, the Minnesota Twins. all the prognosticators on Friday were predicting the Tigers demise this weekend. So much for the experts. I think the pitching is too good to go in a prolonged losing streak and the hitting is consistent enough to score just enough runs. The defense has been solid and I expect they will win their division by at least five games. Any discussion would be greatly appreciated.
