Dirt track racing as a sport has become very popular. It is a prelude to entering the realm of the great sport of Nascar. Nascar used to be dirt track racing because when Nascar first started out way back in the early 1900s, the cars were called stock cars and they were raced on sand and on dirt tracks.
Dirt track auto racing continues to be popular today in spite of the fact that many have moved on to worship the Nascar race car drivers on the asphalt tracks. Nascar is very exciting, but so is dirt track racing.
Dirt track racing is something most anyone can afford to do. It can take a little bit of money, or a whole lot more as you become more seasoned and more involved in the sport. To start out though, all you need is a 4 cylinder car that runs. You can take your little 4 cylinder and give it a whirl around the dirt track and have a great time. You can experiment to see if this is something you think you would like to do. If you like it, you can investigate all that is involved in the sport and decide how dedicated you want to be.
