Today it sure seems like everybody has either cancer, alzheimers, diabetes, high cholesterol or some other sort of ailment. The number of autistic children has skyrocketed among many other childhood diseases.
Do you ever wonder if there may be a common link between all diseases and it has to with what we eat and drink?
You Are What You Eat
When you start thinking about all the diseases and health issues occuring today, it can be a little scary to think that maybe what we are eating and drinking is catching up with us.
Avoiding processed foods has been the discussion for many people. One thing that I have been wondering about is sodas. There really isn’t any sort of nutritional benefit for drinking any type of soda. When you look at the sugar content of some of these drinks, you are practically eating spoonfuls of sugar every time you have a soda.
Even the diet drinks, that have sugar substitutes are just as bad. Did you know that drinking diet sodas during pregnancy has been linked with autistic children?
There are all sorts of myths about sodas. I remember watching a Myth Busters episode where they disproved the myths about Coke–that it disintigrates meat, removes rust, etc. But Coke does have phosporic acid in it. Do we really need this in our body.
I have eliminated any kind of soda from my diet. I feel that I am eliminating unnecessary sugar consumption and also unneeded wasteful calories that add no nutrition to my body. It has been a little difficult since I have always enjoyed the occasional soda–especially with the carbonation, but I am for now sticking to good old water.
