Spectacular looks, great craftsmanship and excellent tone. These are the core of the Jackson RR3. The signature fruit of cooperation of Randy Rhoads and the greatest intellects at Jackson, this instrument comes equipped with two Duncan humbuckers, a Floyd-Rose licensed double-locking tremolo, and playing comfort to go well with its original design.
The comfortable, responsive incredibely low action across the rosewood fingerboard’s twenty two jumbo frets just begs to be in touch with, and the amazing definition from the Seymour Duncans definitely make this axe a tough shooter in your hard rock toolbox, in particular if you would like to feel some true drive and crunch in your tone. The Jackson RR3 axe exceptionally pushes nice definition connected to even the most brutal of distortion stomp boxes (I usually play one plugged into a Boss GT-10 and a Rivera K-Tre), making this a good choice if you get a penchant for heavy music genres.
Each individual aspect of the RR3 is sheer Jackson. From the sharkfin-style inlays on the fingerboard to their well known headstock, I’ve honestly loved the way this instrument shows just as much as the way it plays. And actively playing a lot of metal and edgy stuff, it’s really had a decent stage presence at my last couple of gigs.
Overall, I’d give the Jackson RR3 an 8 out of 10 score. It’s awesome-looking, awesome-sounding, and holds the type of Jackson craftsmanship I’ve learned to expect from about 10 years of playing under my belt. If you haven’t ever tried playing a Jackson, definitely try out the Jackson RR3 up next time you could be in your nearest guitar shop; you will probably get a bit spoiled.
