If you feel as though your memory is beginning to slip, the best thing to do is exercise your brain.
Read. Reading requires concentration, and concentration is essential to memory function.
Meditate. Just as reading improves concentration, so does meditation.
Play cards. Play any card game that where you need to remember what cards have been dealt; for example, Poker, Rummy, Go Fish, Bridge, and Hearts.
Learn a new language. One of the fundamental steps in learning a new language is committing the basic words to memory.
Use music. Learn to play a musical instrument. Learn to read music. Or just sing along with your favorite songs; afterall, you have to remember the words to sing the song!
Learn something new. Learn to cook. Or to sew. Or to play a sport. Or to give a massage. Every time you learn something new, you stimulate your brain and potentially improve your memory.
