Everyone has heard by now about hair extensions. In case you haven’t, hair extensions involve attaching human or synthetic hair directly to your natural hair by one of many different methods available. They offer instant, long beautiful hair in just a few hours.

But we aren’t talking about hair extensions here, we are talking about eyelash extensions. Now the latest trend is to have eyelash extensions attached to your natural eyelashes for more full, thick eyelashes.

Eyelash extensions are the latest craze that women and even men are rushing to their local salons to get. With these fantastic extensions, you won’t need to wear mascara anymore. (I’m sold already…Mascara always irritates my eyes because I wear contacts)

The extensions are attached directly to your existing lashs with a medical adhesive. Costs for this trendy service range from around $200 to $800 depending on how many extensions are attached. It takes a trained stylist anywhere from 1-1/2 hours to 3 hours to attach the extensions to your eyelashes.

The eyelash extensions come in various colors and some women are mixing in colors such as pink or blue for a great new look. The eyelash extensions will naturally fall out during the eyelash cycle of 60-90 days.

You may need to go back into the salon every 2-4 weeks for fill-ins as some of the extensions fall out.

As with everything, there are complications to the eyelash extension procedure. If the extensions are not attached properly, there can be irritation, or possible eye injuries. It is always best to go with a certified and trained stylist. Ask to see their training credentials! Your eyes are depending on it.
