Fly Fishing Knots, Tying it all together
One of the hardest things for newcomers to learn is the fly fishing knots. It’s not that the knots themselves are hard to learn; I think it’s just that people expect it to be hard, and as such they don’t realize fly fishing knots are really quite simple. Although you won’t master it in a couple of days, nothing stops you from tying it all together almost perfectly from day one.
There are endless knots and variations for every purpose in fly fishing. There are fly fishing knots for the leader, flies, junctions, etc. Fortunately for you, there’s a place where you can easily check them all, without spending a cent: on the internet. If you visit a fly fishing online center, you’ll find an area dedicated to fishing knots. Before long you’ll become an expert on which knot to choose for each occasion: saltwater fishing, freshwater fishing, no problem at all – you’ll have it covered on every type of fly fishing location that you would come across.
Don’t blame yourself if you end up forgetting all those fishing knots. Everyone knows how to tie a knot – the difference is if both fly fishing knots that you learned how to tie will hold when you’re struggling to catch the biggest fish ever! Just imagine how frustrated you’d become if you lost that one because of a poorly tied knot… But don’t worry, knots are just a technicality you’ll soon learn and “forget” about. What’s important is the catch and the time you spend out there fly fishing to your heart’s content. For more information on flyfishing check out: www.theflyfishingangle.com
