Foot Massage Techniques

After a long day on your feet a foot massage can feel like heaven. A few simple foot massage techniques will make your whole body feel wonderful.

Following are some step-by-step foot massage techniques:



Begin your foot massage by sitting with your left ankle resting on your right knee.

Rub some oil (baby, vegetable or mineral) into your hands then place both thumbs at the centre of your foot. Rotate your thumbs up towards and just under each toe, then back down towards the heel.

Using the same motion, move your thumbs from heel to ankle, and finally over the top of your foot.

Now, grasp your ankle with your left hand and your foot with the right. Rotate your foot clockwise a few times, then counter clockwise for the same duration. Grasp toes with your right hand and flex them down, then up, four times.

Next, press your thumbs firmly on the inner side of your foot, between ankle and heel, and make circular motions all the way up to your big toe. Massage each toe individually.

Finally, press deeply on the sole, then hold and release. Repeat for your right foot.
