Thank you Amy for this article! I wanted to let you know that after reading this the first time, I started researching Fair Trade fund-raisers, and now my kids' school signed up with Global Goods Partners (www.globalgoodspartners.org). It's a wonderful non-profit organization selling all eco-friendly, fair trade products on their website that our families and friends can purchase. And our school gets 20-30% of the sales! It generates a lot of new funds this year. Their website is very educational, and the products that we got are just beautiful!

I couldn't agree more with you about the importance of fair trade. Too often school fundraisers encourage horrible habits, like eating too many treats or buying disposable things.
