Fundraising with Online Charity Malls – Raise Money for Your Nonprofit Organization

Online Charity Malls offer a way for your nonprofit organization, school or club to earn money. You many not be familiar with this type of online shopping fundraiser, however, some of these shopping websites are well established and have been around for many years. Essentially, these shopping websites are portals that represent online retailers. When a purchase is made online through one of these charity malls your organization splits the commission that is earned by the charity mall website.

This is an easy way to earn some extra money year-round. The idea behind this is that people are going to make purchases online anyway. The retailers that are represented by the charity malls are the major online retailers such as Staples, The Home Depot, Target, and even eBay. It doesn’t cost anymore to shop through a charity mall and sometimes it can cost less, because many times these malls have exclusive coupon deals from the retailers. When members of your organization or your supporters take the extra step of shopping through a charity mall your organization gets the benefit of a sales commission.

When you sign your organization up to participate in these charity malls there is no fee but many do require that your organization provide proof of your nonprofit status. When you are approved your organization will be listed on the shopping site so that shoppers can designate you to receive the donation of the sales commission.

There is no reason not to sign up for as many of these charity shopping portals as you can find online. This way, you may be able to earn a commission from shoppers who see your organization listed and feel that it is a worthwhile cause to donate to. You will also be gaining more exposure for your organization when you participate in more than one of these programs.

The more people you send to the shopping websites the more money you can earn for your cause. You may want to choose a main charity mall that you feel comfortable promoting to your organization’s members and supporters. You can then feature a link to your charity mall on your website and printed materials.

I do not have a particular charity mall to recommend but I am compiling a list of the ones that I have found on the internet. I will be posting a list on my blog and website. I recommend signing up with a charity mall before the holiday shopping season starts. Online holiday shopping is increasing every year. When people start shopping in the name of your charity, hopefully, they will continue throughout the year helping your organization raise the money you need.
