The best time to get a facelift is when you feel you’re ready for it, says cosmetic surgeon Dr. Raul Guanzon. One has to be psychologically prepared to undergo facelift as it is not a one-shot ordeal, adds Dr. Guanzon who has been a cosmetic surgeon for 20 years. He says, a patient has to go through post-operative care, monitoring and maintenance.
Guanzon observed that a growing number of women in their 30′s have been availing of preventive facelift to prolong their younger appearance. He noted that women in their 50′s who undergo facelift will still have remarkable improvement after surgery but the improvement willl not last as long as with younger patient since the musclles will be overstretched.
The major areas that normally benefit from a facelift are : Upper face (from the forehead to the eyebrow) ; the mid-face or the beauty area (nose, eyes, and cheeks) ; lower face and neck where aging takes the form of jowl lines.
