There are some nice big plastic bowls that are much larger than the food you present to your dog. The advantage is that it keeps the contents WITHIN the bowl.

I do realize that the dog will clean up, and that regular cleaning and the right type of floor will help keep things nice and clean.

Never buy too small

Just as you should never buy too big – it doesn’t have to be a 10 litre bucket…. – then buying things too small will be tedious in the long run.

Adapt things and buy something that fits. Quite early your dog will reach full adult size. If you present the new bowls as gifts, your dog will be proud to use it. Present nice cold water in that new water bowl, or present a few doggy-sweets in the other new bowl.

Just like kids, dogs will love you for considering their needs. Enjoy life.
