… Or Any Kind of Party or Festivity
Are you going to have a BBQ this Labor Day? Well, who doesn’t love grilled flank steak? This is a perfect recipe to serve to all your friends and family. It’s easy to prepare and easy to BBQ. Everyone will love it!
What you’ll need:
- 1 pound steak (flank)
- 1/2 cup basil leaves (chopped)
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
All you need to do for this simple recipe is place the steak in a sealable plastic bag or a non-metallic container.
Next, combine the remaining ingredients in a food processor or blender and pour over the steak. You’ll need to marinate it for 1 to 4 hours.
Finally, grill the steak over high heat for 4 minutes on each side for medium rare. Let it cool for 5 minutes before cutting in thin diagonal slices.
A wonderful sauce to serve with this is Curry sauce – see the recipe for it below.
This delicious recipe serves 3-4 people.
What you’ll need for Curry Sauce
- 1 8-ounce container reduced-fat sour cream
- 1/3 cup low-fat mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 Tablespoon mango chutney
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and keep chilled until ready to serve. That’s it! How easy is that?
Not only can you use this sauce with your grilled flank steak, you can also use it for a vegetable dip. All you need to do is blanch fresh broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and use them for dippers.
Another idea is to use whatever dip you have left over and toss with chilled cooked red potatoes for a great salad.
Enjoy!

Just wanted to pass along this video showing how to grill a flank steak: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/789275/labor_day_master_steak_art_of_the_drink_47/ I think it complements the above recipe.
