Growing out your hair?

It seems to be a cycle that everyone goes thru. First we have shorter hair and decide we want it to be a little bit longer. We grow it out to a medium length and are temporarily happy. Then as our hair gets longer we start adding layers to get it lay just right. Then we want to grow out those layers.

There is one secret to growing out your hair that you will not believe helps your hair.

The secret to growing out your hair or layers is to get regular trims. Of course you don’t want to cut off a lot of hair, since you are trying to grow it out, but just a little snip here and there really does help your hair in the long run.

Yesterday I had finally reached the point where I could no longer stand my hair. I have been trying to grow out all these medium to long layers so that I can get just a blunt cut–straight across with no layering.

My stylist said that the ends of my hair were very dry and it was a good thing that I cut them off. I also had my hair thinned out quite a bit. It tends to get really thick and unmanageable as it grows out.

Next week I will try to deep condition my hair for at least 30 minutes, probably a few days before I color my hair. In the winter months my hair tends to get very dry and I’m sure that keeping it moisturized will help it to grow faster in the long run.
