Okay, this is just a dream for now. But researchers have discovered a link between hair loss and iron deficiency.

Another possible contributor of hair loss

At this point in history, there are some basic facts about hair loss that most researchers agree on. A recent article in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dermatologists from the Cleveland Clinic recently reviewed 40 years of research and have concluded that they could enhance hair loss treatment when they treated the patient for iron deficiency.

Many doctors don’t recognize iron deficiency when they see it in patients, leading to many being untreated for the problem.

If you eat a balanced diet, high in iron, you can provide sufficient iron for your body. If you are experiencing hair loss, try to eat more iron-rich foods, such as red meat, liver, potatoes, fresh green vegetables, fortified cereal, and watermelon.

Many doctors warn that no one should take iron supplements unless directed so by their physician. Taking unnecessary iron supplements can be very dangerous, if not fatal.

This finding conflicts slightly with other reports that patients suffering from hair loss should eat a low-fat diet, which would not include much red meat. If both studies (iron deficiency and low fat diets) indicate a reduction in hair loss, then probably the best thing to do is to get as much iron as you can from foods other than red meat.
