In his book “The Green Pharmacy,” James A. Duke, Ph.D., an herbalist and ethnobotanist in Fulton, Maryland, gives a delicious anti-ulcer fruit coctail. Every ingredient in this fruit/herb cocktail contains large amounts of soothing, anti-ulcer compounds :
Bananas
Pineapple
Blueberries
Ground cinnamon
Ground ginger
Ground cloves
Honey (optional)
Cut up the bananas and pineapple ; the amounts and proportions will vary according to the number of servings and which fruits you like best. Put them in a serving bowl and add the blueberries. Season to taste with the spices and sweeten with the honey. Dr. Duke notes to be especially generous with the ginger, since it has 11 anti-ulcer compounds concentrated in one humble spice.
