This article is just fine.. those of you complaining about not making enough money are likely making these mistakes- 1. Not buying right, 2. Not selling right, or 3. Not working hard enough. I am 21 years old and have been selling on ebay for 10 years (yes, ten) and I am now a silver powerseller, with a ~1000+ item ebay store, and CONSISTENTLY gross over $6000 per month (sometimes as high as twice that), and guess what, everything I sell I buy at garage sales and estate sales, for PENNIES on the dollar. I won’t even bother selling an item if I’m not going to gross at least 3-5X what I paid for it, and more often than not I’m selling items for 10-100X what I paid for them. I can’t count the number of times I’ve sold items for $50-$100 that cost me no more than $5 to purchase. The trick is you just have to have experience of the ebay marketplace, buy smart, and work hard.

This is total BUNK. I AM a powerseller and I wish my gross sales were equal to my profit. This writer has absolutely no idea what he/she is talking about. You will be very very lucky if your take is 10% – 20% of gross sales!

Those requirements are only for the minimum amount of sales; you need to subtract the cost of inventory and fees, which usually leaves very little actual profit. It’s not as easy as you say. It is real work to make even $1,000 a month on eBay; profit, not just what your sales total. A lot of people won’t have the dedication and patience for it and they subsequently fail.
