Drawing a Cyclops Fantasy Creature only takes really a few sketch practices to get right and if you can Google search a few photos or illustrations that others have done, you’ll get a better idea of how to draw them. Although the definitive version of a Cyclops creature is in an old Sinbad movie with Ray Harryhausens classic stop motion special effects and that to me is the only version of the creature that looks effective and is also easy to draw.
Step 1 – Sketching A Draft Of A Cyclops Creature
The first obvious step is to sketch a rough drawing of your creature and get all of the basics of the Cyclops figure sketched out so that the creature looks real enough or the Cyclops stands correctly. The draft sketch is always the most important aspect of drawing anything as you need to plan the drawing through the draft process. Watch the first drawing video which walks through the process – Pencil Drawing A Cyclops
Step 2 – Inking Your Cyclops Pencil Drawing
The inking stage is the next stage which can be optional for the artist, although you can clean up the drawing and erase the pencil lines after inking so that you can scan your art into a computer and work on it digitally or simply color it with some art markers or some other art medium. I used a gel ink pen to ink the full Cyclops drawing and you can see how I approached that method of inking in the second drawing video right here – Inking A Cyclops Creature Drawing
Step 3 – Coloring Your Cyclops Drawing
The coloring stage is usually the fun part and in this case I used ultra cheap Crayola Twistable pencils to add color the Cyclops creature drawing and the best thing about the Crayola range of art pencils is that besides being incredibly cheap they are amazing to use and blend the colors together.
