This Christmas why not use your digital photography skills to create a one of a kind Christmas card? A Christmas family photo card is a personal greeting that can be cherished for years to come.
To start you will need to find a good digital photography program that you can easily to download or purchase from a local retailer. Some online digital photography programs are free and some come at a price.
The obvious advantage to a digital camera is that it allows you to take and view photos immediately and retakes can be quickly taken if necessary.
Another advantage is that you don’t need fancy printing and photo editing software in order to create your own photo Christmas cards. All you have to do is upload the photo to one of many online photo services and they can create, edit, and even print the cards for you. Most online photo services are available for a nominal free or if you have the time you can learn how to do it yourself.
When it comes to posing your family there is no right or wrong way to do it. It is also up to you if you want your family members to dress casually or in formal attire. Some of the best cards I’ve seen are with families in jeans and T-shirts wearing Santa hats. Your photo Christmas card can be wacky and wild or classic and refined.
Heck, you don’t even have to use a holiday backdrop or seasonal accessories. What about taking a family photo outdoors with colourful autumn trees or a beach as a backdrop?
The whole process should be fun and easy to do so keep it as simple as possible. The last thing you want is a negative experience by overcomplicating the photo shoot or the process of designing your own photo Christmas cards. And remember; turn to an online photo service if you start to get frustrated with the whole do-it-yourself process.
