It Does Not Cause Cancer – Is Safe

Built by Perriann Rodriguez on Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Every time I hear an advertisement for a product that says ‘it is safe for cancer patients’ or ‘will not cause cancer’ I have to think to myself– How do they know?

There are so many products out there, along with zillions of pharmaceuticals that it seems virtually impossible to come to any sort of concrete conclusion about what might or might not cause cancer.  There are so many factors associated with each product- for example most people that eat a certain product are the type of people that exercise every day.  So it might not be that product that is contributing to any benefits–it is the exercise.

About 20 years ago, it was considered ‘safe’ for women to take all these hormone replacement drugs to treat menopause symptoms. As it turns out a lot of these drugs are now associated with endometrial cancer.  What’s up with that?

In the end, we know what causes cancer.  Cancer occurs when cells in our body go bad.  The event or thing that triggers those cells to go bad is what we don’t know.  Is it our diet, our activities, lack of activities, personality, the way we handle stress, the food we eat, the food we don’t eat, the air we breathe….who really knows?
