Hello again!
I hope you’ve been coping well with our lessons on financial health. Getting this in place before Christmas will make a big difference after Christmas! If you need help getting through Christmas in other ways, please check out my Mom-Defrazzler” Blog and get great ideas for gifts, de-stressing, and coping with fatigue.
However, here we’re just going to deal with our finances! You now know what things cost, when your bills are due, and how much you owe. Let’s start today with creating a spending plan.
Gather all the information you have so far – your 1 month receipts, debt payments, bills, etc. Also, gather all the information you have on income. Count everything!
Now we’re going to create your spending plan. Get a calculator, and either an online spreadsheet or just a piece of paper with a couple of columns. Start with everything you receive and total that up. Write that up at the top like this:
Income:
Husband’s salary: XXXXXX
Wife’s salary: XXXXX
Bonuses: XXXXX
Home Business: XXXXX
Total: XXXXXXX
When you have it all totaled up, do exactly the same with your expenses. At this point in time, don’t worry if it doesn’t balance. Just get the numbers down on a page so you know exactly where you are.
Is this stressing you out to the max?
Well, time for a pampering session. If you’re the male part of the relationship, pamper your wife – there will most likely be some nice fringe benefits for you (but don’t pamper her just to get them, pamper her for herself).
If you’re the female part, grab this free e-book and get started:
