Juice Fasting Recipes for Your Detox Diet

Many people are finding juice fasting as a gentle and easy way to detox. Juice fasting can help cleanse the body of its toxins. As a result, it can help people with their constipation, bloating, acne, skin problems and also, achieve better health and more energy. Fruits are readily obtainable and all that is required additionally is a juicer.

For a beginner to juice fasting, it is important to start out slow and to try it out for one day. By juice fasting, you are limiting your intake to juices only. Fruit juice is high in sugar, so if you are a diabetic or otherwise in need of monitoring your sugar intake you should be cautious of trying a juice fast with fruit juices. Anyone just starting out with fasting should always speak with their doctor first. Also, do not juice fast for prolonged periods like more than 3 days; not unless your doctor agrees that it is safe for you to do so.



The following are sample recipes that can help give you an idea of combinations of fruits and vegetables to use together:

Recipe 1: Vegetable Juice Combo

2 Swiss chard leaves

1/2 beetroot

2 or 3 sprigs of watercress

3 carrots

1 celery stalk

Wash with filtered or distilled water, cut and put in juicer.

Recipe 2: Carrot-Apple Juice

2-3 Green Apples

1 carrot

Fresh basil leaves

Wash with filtered or distilled water, cut and put in juicer.

Recipe 3: Carrot-Vegetable Juice

A handful of dandelion leaves

1 kale leaf

4 carrots

Fresh mint, basil or coriander leaves

Wash with filtered or distilled water, cut and put in juicer.

Recipe 4: Peach Juice

2 or 3 peaches

Wash with filtered or distilled water, cut and put in juicer.

There are many ways to go about juice fasting. Some diets call for fruit juices while others used less sugary vegetable juices. Be sure to find one that you feel comfortable with. In addition, detox diets need not be boring. You can have plenty of fun coming up your own unique combination of fruit and vegetable juice diet recipes.

    I am 200 pounds but i am 5'9 and the most places where i am fat are my bum, thighs, arms, stomach and hips. I recently started to drink pop and eat junk, and i dont feel good about it. iv been eating activia yogurt, but thats not enough. i have school in less then a month and when i go back to school shopping i want to get cute clothes and not sweats and sweaters.

      Sam, incorporate as much fresh veggies and fruits as you can in your diet. If you want to have any kind of benefit from eating yogurt, always go organic. Activia claims to help the aid in digestion but the probiotic in Activia fights off a bateria only found in mammals. Mainly rodents. It's unbeneficial for humans. Dannon has a lawsuit filled against them for such deceptive marketing.

      I hope you had good results! I might add to the other response that you can start walking and increase the impact more fruits and vegetables have on your health. Instead of pop, drink carbonated water that is very cold or sodas made with stevia (sweet leaf) instead of sugar or artificial sweetners. Very small changes at a time are best!

    My favorite is apple carrot spinach juice. 2 apples 3-5 carrots 1 large handful of spinach I also like 1/2 honey dew melon 8 strawberries few sprigs of fresh mint

    Just curious my daughter is 13 and would like to try it. Not to loose weight but to simply "refresh" her self I figured I would look in to it before I gave her the OK. So do u think this is a good idea and if so how many days?

    When juice fasting try to mix more vegetables into your diet than fruits,green leafy vegetables are rich in Chlorophyll and live enzymes. They're much cheaper and has less sugar compared to fruits but of course don't eliminate fruits from your mix.

    You can't use off the shelf juices because they are pasturized. When the juice is heated up, it kills all the enzymes in it, in other words it becomes dead food. One of the great things about juice fasting is you are drinking all these alive foods that actively repair different parts of your body. So dont heat them... Also oxidation can happen if you don't drink the juices immediatly. Don't be fooled when juices say flash pasturized. They are still heated. Everything in a bottle or can is required by law to be pasturized.

    This must be a silly question but can I use the off the shelf juices or Naked juices for the Juice diet? Also, if I choose to make these juices at home do they have to be fresh? Make them everyday? I am used to cooking every Sunday for the whole week. Thanks,
