Kids are out of school – what are you going to do?

Kids are out of school in most areas by now. If they aren’t out now they will be soon. Do you have a plan or ideas for the summer? Here are some great ideas.

Look at websites for the local theaters. Many offer free or reduced priced movies on weekdays during the summer.

Check out the library. Summer reading programs, story times, book clubs are just some of the great ideas available here. Some libraries even offer cheap or free classes.

If your town has a local magazine or newspaper take a look at that. You might find plays, concerts, carnival type events, and more.

Look at the website for your city or neighborhood (if it has it’s own site). Many rec centers offers summer camps, classes and extra events during the summer.

Coordinate play dates for your younger kids. This is a great way to stay in touch with school friends and neighbor kids. It also allows you time to do errands or home projects when they are busy.

Local pools, beaches, and waterparks are great summer fun. Picnics at a park or a bike ride to a picnic spot or ice cream store.

Keep a supply of crafts on hand for rainy days. Or days it is jus too hot to be outside.
