Kids Bedroom Themes | Remember Your Child When Making the Design Plans
Kid’s bedroom themes can run the gamut from race cars to cowboys; or cartoon characters to rainbows and butterflies. The many different themes are as various as the personalities of the children whose room it is. When you are trying to decide on what theme to decorate your child’s bedroom in, here are some things to keep in mind.
Remember your child when making the design plans for their bedroom. The end result should focus on their likes and dislikes. This is going to be a place for them to truly be themselves, so keep it simple. Don’t overload the senses, or their new room, with brimming toy-boxes or things they will never use.
Try and focus on their long-term needs as well. Instead of just settling for decorating their bedroom in what they are into at the moment, make it more personal by drawing on their strengths and accomplishments. If you have an aspiring artist, encourage that with age appropriate accessories such as an easel and paints, other art supplies, or for a fun touch; paint one section of their wall with chalkboard paint and give them an assortment of colored chalks to use. Their imaginations will run wild with all they can do.
If you’re looking for something a little less ordinary, why not try drawing and painting a mural for them? It’s not that hard to do and it doesn’t even have to be perfect. There are several things you can utilize to help with this. You can use stencils, which are so easy. Or you can purchase a projector for home use. This will transfer the image you put under it onto a wall so that you can trace the design before you fill it in with paint. But most of all, have fun with it!
