Have you tuned in to the radio lately? What songs have been listening to this past couple of days?
I bet every household owns a radio or a device that plays music. Whether radio, IPOD, or Mp3 Players every family has their own electronic device in order to listen to their favorite songs.
Music has been an integral part of a person’s life. Different types of people can relate to variety of music that suits their taste. It can be Rock, Rap, Pop, Country, Blues, Jazz, Heavy metal, Fusion or even World music people can identify themselves just by listening and contemplating on the lyrics of the song.
Music is a great expression hidden from a person’s heart. It creates an atmosphere which is essential in changing the mood of the moment. You become addicted to your favorite song and it drives you to an emotional high at times.
Music business has taken the world by storm because of such creative evolution in music.
Let’s take an example of one artist, Lady Gaga. She took the pop culture in the palm of her hands, what she accomplished in her first fifteen months is astounding. 8 Million records sold, 6 Grammy nominations, and the first artist in the history to have four number one hits in a debut album, talk about enormous achievement by a 23 year old.
Her music is considered to be unique, hypnotic, and appealing to the masses. The Electronic Dance Music overwhelms the disco clubs! It generates a lot of party people to come and enjoy as they have fun and dance.
Today music is considered an art and it’s basically scientific that it can create a syndrome. We call it Last Song Syndrome.
According to the dictionary the Last Song Syndrome means: “To listen to music before going out of the house, and having the last song you hear before leaving stick in your head all through your journey, and beyond. It is usually accompanied by subconscious humming.”
What Lady Gaga made with her songs is to make it stick in peoples’ minds so that it creates a hypnotic feel for it.
In the same way, when you are making your sales copy, there is a principle from the Last Song Syndrome that we can take in making it. The following are a few insights:
1. UNIQUE- Make your sales copy unique! You don’t want to be following the same boring style many people do today. When you have a product you want to promote, be sure that your letter is made in such a way that it brings your product into new heights.
2. FRESH- Keep it fresh! Update your letter to your customers consistently. Don’t just allow it to stay the same, make improvements when you get a new flash of inspiration.
3. LONGEVITY-Stay alive in the market! Find new ways to persuade your prospective customers into getting from you! Don’t stay with the same thing, find out what your customers want and stick to that! If you find that making your sales copy hip is what keeps them going then make it hip. If you find out that they like things more formal then go with that as well. Nobody wants to do what other people say, but when it comes to marketing your products it is essential that you know what makes your customer happy.
So find that edge that will make your sales copy play over and over in people heads just like the “Last Song Syndrome”.
