Google AdSense ads have become ubiquitous. It’s hard to find many sites that aren’t running their contextual text advertisements.
However, there ARE other options available for site publishers wishing to monetize their web pages.
I recently came across a site called Kontera. They have a different approach to contextual advertising. Rather than display ads directly on the site, their engine looks at a web page and highlights certain keywords on the page by placing a double blue line underneath the word.
This is a unique approach to contextual advertising because the ad is hidden until the visitor decides to roll the mouse over the link. It allows the web publisher to have more space for content. And when a visitor sees the ad, they may be more likely to click it due to the novelty of the link.
You may see Kontera ads appearing on this site.
If you own a site, you may want to take a look at putting Kontera on your pages.

Certainly this is just another exploitation and aggravation to be endured while surfing. Seems pretty shallow, as "easy money at others' expense. (pun intended).
I'm not so sure that Kontera ads are the way to go. I find the ads to be annoying. Sometimes when I'm reading articles, I tend to move the mouse around. I end up hovering over an ad accidently and it pops up and blocks the text. I do agree though that Google Adsense ads are everywhere now so it's probably more difficult to make a large amount of money.
You'd better be careful, Adsense TOS does not allow to mix their ads with other context-sensitive advertising.
Hello, I come to know one more: allinfobarn publisher program (www.publisher.allinfobarn.com). I had just applied to get a publisher account and waiting their reply. jak
