LOUISIANA PECAN CANDY RECIEPE
1lb of Sugar
1lb of Pecans
1 can of Condense or Carnation(Pet) Milk
1 stick of Butter (no margarine)
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
Wax Paper : Clear off a spot on the counter top and spread wax paper on the counter top to prevent the pecean candy from sticking to it
In a medium to big pot combine milk, butter, and sugar,and Vanilla extract
Stir ingredients constantly to avoid sticking, stir until the ingredients are beginning to thicken up Add the Pecans,
Continue to stir until all the ingredients are stiffen coloring will change brown don’t let let brown to much or it will burn. Spread Precean Candy mix on the wax paper or you can spoon mixture onto the wax paper creating individual pieces. or u can spread entire candy mixture and just cut it with a butter knife when it is cooled. Candy may be eaten slighly warm which is very tasty. There you’ll have pieces of Louisiana history
If you use the Carnation or Pet milk, please add water equal to the 1 can (may require a little more stirring than condense milk.
