Marketers today have a novel and a new way of reaching out to consumers-blog marketing. Blogs are websites where the sites owners post their ideas, journalize and comment on each other’s thoughts, share stories and even post diary entries.

Marketers have taken to blog as a means to further a positive brand image, defend negative blog write-ups, and spread the word about their brand. Although blogging is no replacement to traditional media, it can create new clients or a new medium to hit a target market not traditionally reach by broadcast and mass media.

Blog marketing is a new way of reaching a brand’s target market and sustaining a dialogue with the brand’s market in the relatively inexpensive channel. Here’s some tips to reach new market and sustain present loyal brand users:

1. Initiate building a community of bloggers and though it educates your present and potential customers on the merit of your product.

2. Use blogs as a conversional medium. Blogs are feedback-based and online, use it as a basis for a more meaningful value proposition and brand story.

3. Have topic experts write on your blogs. Blogs are contributed by people who are passionately engaged in a particular topic and their range of experience and knowledge is too deep for a fictional professional writer to capture.

4. Link your website to other blogs or a website as a way of spreading the word about your blog.
