Several sources reported the next release of a phone designed by Microsoft and equipped with a graphics chip from nVidia. The device could be presented in February 2009 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Since June, we knew that nVidia would invest in the mobile phone market with the release of the Tegra 600 chip which includes the graphical image capability to decode HD (720p) on the screen of a smartphone. During the presentation of this processor, nVidia stated that this component would be designed to work with Windows Mobile. It was made known on Monday November 24, that Microsoft is responsible for designing the device.
It has been reported that the fruits of this union will be presented in Barcelona in February 2009, at the Mobile World Congress. The aim is obviously to compete for attention with the iPhone. Microsoft, however, let it be known that it has not forgotten about the Zune, which is supposed to compete with the iPod.
During a demonstration of the famous Tegra 600 chip, the chip was integrated into a prototype device and plugged into a TV. The camera showed quality images which streamed similar to those of other players. So far the chip looks like it has a lot of potential.
