More women die of this cancer than any other

Built by Perriann Rodriguez on Monday, March 17th, 2008

Every day more and more women are diagnosed with cancer. It really is scary.

Even scarier is the fact that no one really knows what causes cancer. There are some theories out there based on statistics and research, but the exact cause is not known.

Do you know what the no. 1 cancer is that is killing more women than any other cancer today?

Lung Cancer is the no. 1 cancer that is killing women.

There are many things about lung cancer that you may be unaware of. First, it is the only cancer in women that is not on the decline. And more non-smokers are getting lung cancer than ever before.

Smoking has always been a significant risk factor for lung cancer. But, now non-smokers are getting lung cancer.

Why? Research results suggest that an increase in levels of pollutants release ultrafine particles in the air and that these particles can cause tiny scars in the lungs. This is just an open door for cancer cells to start doing their work.

Also, a very significant contributor to lung cancer is radon. Radon is an odorloss, colorless gas that seeps into your home from underlying soil and rocks. The Midwest and Mountain states have the highest amounts of radon. The only way to make sure your house doesn’t have radon is to check the hair. You can buy radon tests at your local hardware store.

Some experts are recommending that you avoid being outside too much on very smoggy days, if you happen to live in the city or near industrial plants, so that you can avoid heavy breathing.

Regular exercise is also recommended to keep your lungs clear. Exercise can reduce any inflammation that can contribute to cancer growth. The obvious recommendation by physicians is that if you are a smoker, you need to stop.
