As I watch the new year come in I hear talk everywhere about new years resolutions. Honestly, you don’t have to wait until a new year to make a resolution.
It is always hard to get back into things, especially after a long holiday. Once again, I have decided to lose at least 10 pounds. Those last 10 pounds really are the hardest to get rid of.
If weight loss is your goal, what are you going to do to lose weight in 2009?
After a very long holiday, I have over-eaten on many occasions and my stomach is now used to all the food. My first goal is to shrink my stomach back down and get it used to the smaller meals and substantially less calories.
I really don’t like counting calories, but if you really want to lose weight you will have to do the math. When you start counting what you eat every day, you will find out that you are eating much more than you think. I used to think that I hadn’t eaten anything all day, only to find out the handful of this and that really does increase your calories in a day.
Another thing that you need to do besides counting calories is to keep a food journal. There is something about writing things down that make you realize the facts better.
I am going to exercise at least 3 times a week for the first few weeks of January. Then I would like to go to 4 times a week. I will try to do aerobic exercises combined with weight training and stretching.
One thing I definitely need to do is increase my water intake. I have been slacking off a bit since the weather has turned cold. But it is time to bring out a few sweaters to wear inside and bring on the ice water.
These are just a few items from my plan to lose weight in 2009. See more weight loss programs.
