One small change can make you look 10 years younger

Built by Perriann Rodriguez on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

I am reading a book called “How not to look old” by Charla Krupp. It has some very interesting information about what you can do to not look old.

Some of the ideas involve plastic surgery or expensive treatments like botox injections, fillers or laser hair removal. But there are a whole bunch of things that you can do that don’t really cost you much at all.

I was amazed when I tried this small change…..

Changing to a light pink lipstick. I have an assortment of dark red, dark pink and mauve lipstick shades that I keep in my purse. I have to say that recently when I put on any of those colors, I look in the mirror and I don’t like the way I look.

Well, there is a reason for that. The darker shades draw attention to everything on your face that is wrinkling or sagging. Charla Krupp recommends switching to a light pink shade will help to make you years younger. In the book she has a picture of Sharon Stone wearing a dark red lipstick and then shows a picture of Sharon wearing a light shimmering pink lipstick. The difference is notable. The light pink shade does make Sharon Stone look so much better.

I was at the grocery store shortly after reading this information and I said, what the heck, I will buy a light pink lipstick. It seemed rather funny at the time, since this is a color that I have never worn and a color that my teenage daughters have tons of.

Jokingly I put on the pink lipstick and ask my daughter, Do I look younger? She responded, Yes you actually do. When you get a teenage girl saying that you do look better, well you have to go with it.

So now I will wear light pink lipstick and look ten years younger.
