The battle with the Inner Demon may be tough, but I discovered a bit of a cheat: In level 12, when you find the crystal key at the bottom of Rockman's Gorge, it unlocks a hidden chamber that leads to the E-Meter. Using the E-Meter will weaken the Inner Demon by decreasing his OT ranking, thereby allowing for a quicker auditing process. Of course, using a Game Genie can equip you with the E-Meter from the start of the game!
