Outdoor furniture cushions help brings furniture pieces to life. In recent years, outdoor living has become to be one of the most popular lifestyle choices among many. There are many different types of furniture pieces that can be purchased for patios, decks, porches, pool areas, and similar designated spots in the great outdoors. One can choose from plastic, wood, canvas, PVC, and more! Unfortunately, many of these pieces are considered to be hard and uncomfortable.

The main reason for this is the fact that many of these outdoor patio furniture pieces lack the appropriate cushioning. Shopping for outdoor patio cushions for this type of furniture can be rather expensive. This is why many individuals are creating their own. Here, I will teach you how to create your own outdoor furniture cushions!

The first thing that you will need to do to create your own outdoor furniture cushions is to measure the space that you want to cover on your patio furniture pieces. Many pieces have lips and unsupported pieces that angle down. You should avoid measuring these areas. The next thing that you should do is decide on the overall cushion height and type that you want to use when creating your furniture cushions. You can choose to stuff the cushion with basic cotton or use a foam pad to place inside of the material that you will elect to use on the project.

Now, it is time to visit your store and purchase the materials that you want to use for the project of creating outdoor furniture cushions. It is important to remember to select fabric that best matches the outdoor furniture cover pieces that you are wanting to cover. You should also remember to purchase a zipper piece that you can place on the cushions so that you may clean them successfully on occasion.

Now that you have your materials, all you have to do is sew the pieces together in a manner in which the foam and/or cotton can be inserted into the cushion. You should also place the zipper unit on the side so that you may clean the outer layer of your cushion later on.

Seeing that the cushions will be placed on the furniture that is outside, you may consider spraying them with a substance that will provide a protective barrier from rain and other types of moisture. You may even elect to place a zippered piece of plastic over the cushions for additional moisture protection. This is all there is to creating your own outdoor furniture cushions!
