Many homes have some gorgeous porcelain sinks. In fact you can purchase sinks that are in different shapes such as seashells or even hearts. The only problem with porcelain is sometimes you can get a scratch, nick or chip in it. This can be unsightly in a sink and often requires porcelain sink repair. The good news is this type of repair is relatively inexpensive and easy enough to do without replacing the entire sink.
First clean the sink really well with a non-abrasive cleaner that is designed for porcelain. You can also use a mild soap and water combinations with a soft rag. Wipe the sink out completely. Following the directions on the back of the container, mix together an epoxy solution. Fill in any minor chips or cracks in the porcelain sink with the solution using a toothpick, small brush or cosmetic sponge. Allow the epoxy solution to dry and set for a minimum of one day. Do not use the porcelain sink while the solution sets.
At the local hardware or paint store you can pick up paint that is made specifically for porcelain. Find a small can that matches the color of your sink. Repaint the sink and allow it to dry for two days prior to using the sink. You now have the sink repaired and ready to use again without replacing the entire unit.
