Professional hair care products vs. those sold in drug or department stores

Built by Joy & Celeste on Monday, September 11th, 2006

When it comes to hair care products, not all shampoos and conditioners are created equal. Actually there are a number of differences. First some hair care products contain higher concentrations of certain ingredients like protein.

One of the main advantages of buying salon or professional products over hair care products sold at grocery, drug or departments stores is that professional hair care products are often developed based on a hairstylist’s recommendation instead of a random survey conducted by the manufacturer.

The pH level of professional shampoos is usually 4.5 to 6.5 with emollients and cleansers which are mixed together in such a way that they effectively break dirt and oil into tiny particles that easily slide off your hair and scalp.
